POLICIES

SHIPPING POLICY

You must be at least 21 years of age to order or receive alcoholic beverages.

The billing address needs to match the address on your credit card statement.

All alcoholic beverages are sold in California, and title passes to the buyer in California. By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to your selected location, and you confirm that you are at least 21 years old.

We focus on shipments within California, states reciprocal with California, and NON-PO BOX addresses. If you are outside of California, it's your responsibility to determine if you can legally import wine or spirits into your state. Each state has its own set of rules about importing alcoholic beverages. We recommend consulting the appropriate agency in your state.

The Wine Birds will organize the delivery on the buyer's behalf, to the address the buyer has provided. This is on the condition that such a shipment won't expose The Wine Birds to any potential legal issues. If your residential state prohibits the direct shipment of wine, we advise providing an address in a state where it is legal. The customer will be responsible for any costs required to re-ship an order.

We ship from Carlsbad, CA. For CA, WA, OR, ID, CO, AZ, NV, NM, and TX, we ship directly from our store. For other locations, shipments are processed via our logistics partner's hub in Los Angeles. Particularly during the warmer months (from March through October), we use climate-controlled vehicles from our LA center to the regional depot. Once there, the parcel is transferred to a local delivery service, such as UPS, FedEx, or LSO.

Insurance is included with all standard ground shipments. If you need additional insurance – please let us know before we process the shipping. Unfortunately, we do not offer international shipping at this time.

Estimated Ship Times

For an accurate shipping timeline, please refer to real-time carrier-calculated rates. Tracking information will be sent upon shipment. Note that the duration can vary based on the season and state regulations.

We strive to ensure that your wine reaches you in perfect condition. We utilize temperature-controlled trucks for the initial part of the journey from California to your regional warehouse. After arriving at the regional depot, the local carriers typically do not offer temperature-controlled transportation. We urge you to consider the temperatures during the delivery period. If you're concerned about potential extreme weather conditions, we can hold your shipment to ensure your wine reaches you in optimal shape.

Please be informed that carrier insurance doesn't cover any damage caused by heat.

REFUND POLICY

As per California legislation, alcoholic products cannot be returned unless they are found to be flawed or defective.

It's essential to note that neither Wine Birds nor the courier services we partner with to deliver your wine offer insurance against potential weather-induced damage that may happen during transportation. Once the wine has been dispatched safely from our store, we do not accept any returns attributed to possible transit-related damage. If you have concerns about the integrity of your wine upon receipt, please reach out to us directly at info@wine-birds.com.
