Riddle Wines was born because I wanted to make wine that is the purest form of what the vineyard, harvest and climate created. Cutting out any additions or heavy-handed winemaking methods is the best way I know how to do it. I work with vineyard owners who put their passion and knowledge into the vines and don’t use any herbicides or pesticides (Organic and Regenerative practices). I also farm 3 of my wines myself and am looking to farm more.
Farming: Organic El Dorado
AVA: David Girard Vineyard; 22 year old vines double cordon
Style: Syrah Red Wine / unfined and unfiltered
Additions: Native Ferment & 15 ppm sulfur before bottle
Tasting Notes: The aroma in this wine is like sticking your face in a violet flower bed and then taking a bite of Alaskan mixed berry pie. I find that I drink this wine too quickly without noticing it. Finishes with a mouth coating flowery warmness that lingers
Aging: 14 months in neutral French oak
